If you can't beat them...

Those that know me, will know that I find that the old ones, are usually the best!

The old, black shoe polish on binoculars eye pieces, certainly was beautiful today! My only regret is that there is no picture to capture the moment when Paul took the binoculars down from his eyes to reveal two perfect black, owl like rings around his eyes.

Hi Darren,
At last I've sussed out how to contact you. Ive visited your blogg spot many times(due to a lack of concentration and a typographical error, i've just narrowly avoided calling it your blobb spot)This might be a more appropriate name for those unfit bloggers!! I trust that life is treating you as well as is portrayed on your "spot"(if that's the right terminology!)that must have been a difficult decision to make, from cruising around in the vessels that you had become accustomed to, to being aboard such a fabulous bit of kit? Good move! you deserve it after all this time. Please drop us an E-mail, when you have the time. Do you ever come back to "dear old blighty", to remind yourself of the misserable climate that you've left behind? Ellen and I are still planning to buy one(or, maybe two) properties in France. We are now considering a Chalet in the French
Pyrenees, where mouse can snowboard, and Chef for us, plus a gite, in the South-West (the Charante), where we can get away from the politics of this wretched country. We've just come back from a week in Ibiza, which was great! All four of us went, with a mate of Kenneth's. It worked well! We would also like to buy a place out there, but it's quite expensive!
I've still got my Porsche, and still love it to bits! (What a saddo!) A lot of people say that I'm going through a mi-life crisis, buying a car like that, but who cares? we have nearly finished doing up our house, to sell it, and hope to be able to take advantage of our hard work, to enjoy it for Christmas. My mother died last September(2006), and so my younger brother and I have got to dispose of her house in Chipstead, Surrey. (ot my cup of tea). However, the whole process has been delayed by the inland revenue claiming that it was worth more than it actually is.
At long last, we've agreed a value, but they've still taken over £100,000 off us, before we've even got a penny!! Oh well, it should enable us to buy some of this property in France. Kenneth now has his own mobile car valetting business, and Mouse helps him when she is back in the U.K.Otherwise, I have been helping him, whilst Mouse has been working in Austria.
I'll sign off now, before you get too bored and fall asleep, and crash that beautiful ship!!
Do drop us a line. Mouse and Kenneth call me "The Robster", and Ellen is "Mumma Fish". (Call that respect from your kids?)
hopefully, speak to you again soon,
.
all the best,

Rob, Ellen, Kenneth & "Mouse" Fisher
